Responsible investing

With AXA, your savings become responsible
With us, responsible investment is not a trend: it is a conviction rooted in our history and mission. By acting for the climate, for social cohesion, and with rigor in our investments, we are building committed finance.

A strong conviction
Responsible investment at AXA is based on a strong conviction: financial performance cannot be separated from social and environmental impact. This is why we have developed a unique investment approach that combines financial rigor, ESG* (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria, and societal commitment.
Our investment decisions are guided by two key commitments: investing with transparency and acting for a low-carbon life.
Invest with transparency and impact
Our responsible investment approach is unique to AXA**: it is based on high standards and concrete commitments.
-
Systematic integration of ESG criteria in all our investment decisions.
-
Sectoral exclusion policy***: thermal coal, tobacco, controversial weapons…
Act for a low-carbon life
Our investments are based on two major “environmental” actions:
-
Invest €5 billion per year to finance the climate transition.
-
Reduce our carbon footprint by 50%, compared to 2019, by 2030 on listed stocks, corporate bonds, and real estate (Scope 1 and 2). To learn more, click here.
To have a positive impact on society, we also commit to investing €500 million annually in social assets such as social bonds and infrastructure related to essential services like health and education.
AXA, a responsible company
We also actively support research and solidarity.
-
The AXA Research Fund has committed €256 million since 2008 to support 724 projects in 39 countries.
-
In France, our health sponsorship program (2022-2027) is endowed with €90 million to finance projects on childhood diseases, aging, and the training of young scientists.
A sustainable future starts with your savings
As an AXA employee savings plan holder, you have the opportunity to give purpose to your savings by choosing funds with the SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) label.
The SRI label excludes companies whose activities are polluting, particularly those related to coal and fossil fuel. It helps finance companies that stand out for their commitment to sustainable development, thereby contributing to a positive impact on the environment and society.
*ESG is an acronym that refers to three main criteria used to assess the sustainability and impact of an investment: E for Environment, which concerns a company’s ecological impact; S for Social, which evaluates how the company treats its employees, customers, and society in general; G for Governance, which relates to how the company is managed.
